I think that from what I know, an immigrant is someone who was born, or is from another country that has traveled to somewhere else. So if someone was from the Netherlands coming to the United States, they would be an immigrant. This is what I think an immigrant is. If they don't have a green card and they have come from a different country, then they are not a citizen, and they are illegal. If they have a green card, then they are a citizen of that country, which make them legal.
My connection with immigrants is with my mom and her side of the family. My mom and her family are immigrants, they came from the Netherlands, also known as Holland. My mom’s parents and her and her siblings moved to the United States because it was to cold in Holland, and her parents wanted their kids to have more opportunities in life by moving to the United States. They moved to San Diego where it is nice and warm.
I don’t have any friends besides my parents friends that are immigrants.
I don’t really know why immigrants move to the United States, but I think that many immigrants move to the United States, because they want to have more opportunities, like business opportunities. They also probably want to have the freedom we have here, because most countries don’t have the freedom we have, and other countries don’t have amendments, like our first amendment. Sometimes they move because they don't like where they live, or to start new, and live a new life. Also because maybe something is going on in their country,like wars. Many people move to the United States to be in a
safer environment. Almost similar to when kids move to a new school. They make a new start by moving schools.
I think that the effect in San Diego, because of immigration is in the different races around us. Many different people of different races come to San Diego. I think that immigration is a wonderful thing because of the different people we meet, and the different cultures we learn about. I think that Immigration has taught everyone a lot of things about what is going on around us, and to see what other people have experienced from where they have come from. I think that it is a good thing that people from other places are getting the chance to start new by immigrating from one country to another country.

Question #1: Answer: Baby Joseph got chalk writing on his jacket because he had Trachoma. The writing on his Jacket meant that he was sick and that he couldn’t become an American.

Question #2: Answer: I think Margaret Rose’s dad wants Margaret to get marry so soon so that she can get married to someone and have kids. Also I think probably in Ireland where Margaret Rose’s family was from probably most of the girls got marry when they were about Margaret Rose’s age.

Question#1: Answer: I think Elsa was mean because she thought she was better than a family who was for her dirty and who had been traveling for two weeks in a boat. I think Elsa was also mean because she didn’t want the Nolan Family to come and live in her house.

I also think it might be hard for Margaret, Rose’s mom, to every Sunday go to Mass with her family while every one else in Uncle Patrick’s house didn’t go to Mass.
Question#2: Answer: Well a Mass is religious service of the Roman Catholic Church and Church is a place for public (especially Christian) worship. I think the main difference between Mass and Church is that Mass is for Catholics and Church is mainly for Christians.
